Dear 5th Floor Family,
We are thrilled to announce that 5th Floor Theatre will be hosting its first-ever new works reading series — Readings on 5th Floor— on the evening of Sunday, March 31!
We are looking for original one-act plays that will be organized into an overarching theme for the evening. As you know, 5th Floor’s mission is to provide support for New York theatre artists as they build a foundation for their careers. Readings on 5th Floor is an exciting moment in our growth as we produce a showcase for original work during the early stages of its development, offering playwrights, actors, directors and audiences an opportunity to hear these emerging original voices and contribute to their strength!
If you are interested in submitting a play for consideration, please send the following to [email protected] by Friday, March 1 by 11:59 PM EST:
- One-page abstract summarizing the play and approximate runtime;
- A 10-page excerpt that showcases its strengths; and
- A full version of the play.
As a nonprofit organization, we at 5th Floor continue to be inspired by the incredible talent within our theatre community.
