AUDITIONS: Monday, August 27th and Tuesday, August 28th from 6:30pm-10pm
CALLBACKS: Wednesday, August 29th from 6:30pm-10pm
Rehearsals begin Saturday, September 29th and will occur Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturdays or Sundays during the day
Tech: November 12-13
Performances: November 14-17 (8pm), November 17 and 18 (2pm), November 19, 20, and 24 (8pm) and November 25 (2pm) at Hudson Guild Theater in Chelsea.
SUMMARY:
Jimmy Livingston was born without immunities and is confined to live in a plastic bubble room. His only childhood friend was the girl next door, Chloe, and when he learns she’s going to be married, he resolves to travel across the country, stop the wedding, and confess his love. Based on the 2001 film of the same name.
SEEKING:
We will cast actors of all sizes, colors, gender identities and ages. (NON-UNION TALENT ONLY).
JIMMY LIVINGSTON: The Bubble Boy. Always believes the best in people. Has a youthful curiosity about the world. Possesses great inner strength. Tenor. Male identifying. Age 18-22. ETHNICITY: All Ethnicities
CHLOE MOLINSKI: A tough girl who masks an inner vulnerability. Doesn’t have a family support system and so tries her best to get through the world on her own. Mezzo soprano. Female identifying. Age 18-22. ETHNICITY: All Ethnicities.
MRS. LIVINGSTON: Jimmy’s mom. Is willing to do anything to keep her son safe and maintain the status quo. Lives inside her own “bubble” of “alternative facts”. Mezzo soprano. Female identifying. Age 40+. ETHNICITY: All Ethnicities.
MR. LVINGSTON/GIL: Jimmy’s dad, doesn’t speak until the very end. Loves his wife, but also wants what is best for his son, which is why he usually chooses to stay silent. Gil is the Leader of the Bright and Shiny cult. Male identifying. Age 40+. ETHNICITY: All Ethnicities.
MARK: Chloe’s boyfriend and eventual fiancée, thinks he’s cooler than he is, a wannabe rocker. Should be able to sing in ‘80’s’ rock style. Male identifying. Age 18-22. ETHNICITY: All Ethnicities.
LORRAINE: leader of her branch of the Bright and Shiny cult. Believes in the Movement intensely and is usually excellent at recruiting people. Soprano. Female identifying. ETHNICITY: All Ethnicities.
SLIM: head of a biker gang. Slim has lived on the outskirts of society for a long time. Has seen a lot of disappointment in her/his life, but still has big dreams and wants to help Jimmy accomplish his. Baritone. Male or Female identifying. Ethnicity: Latinx
PUSHPAHP: A small business owner. A person of great faith and ambition who is a practicing Hindu. Male or Female identifying. Ethnicity: Of Southern Asian, Southeast Asian, or Middle Eastern descent.
SHAWN: Mark’s best friend, dreams of being a rock god. Genuinely thinks Mark is genius, but is pretty unsure of himself. Tenor. Male identifying. Age 18-22. ETHNICITY: All Ethnicities
Also casting for actors to play multiple roles in the ensemble. Supporting roles will also be part of ensemble numbers.

BUS KIOSK GUY/GIRL: a stoner who works at the bus station
SHERIFF: A no-nonsense police officer
DEPUTY: A rookie cop
CULT MEMBERS: members of the Bright & Shiny cult
TOWNSPEOPLE: the people of Palmdale
TEENAGERS: the teens of Palmdale
