5th Floor Theatre supports a diverse, inclusive and representative comeback for New York City’s theatre community.

The COVID-19 pandemic devastated the performing arts around the world, and its effects were particularly impactful to those who were just starting their careers in New York City -- one of the most expensive and competitive markets. Many who were just beginning to gain traction face new setbacks, while newcomers without representation or insider connections may face greater challenges than ever as the industry as a whole regains its footing.

Through annual grants intended to reduce financial barriers, 5th Floor Theatre’s mission is to provide initial and/or ongoing support to individuals and teams who are working to develop their artistic voices in New York City theatre.
